Relating your content to current events is a great way to create new content. Not only can you use this content to add to your website, but also to create articles and submit them to article directories.

Articles related to current events often get good search engine listings quickly. This will get you exposure and links to your website.

Current events are also a great reason to create a press release. Use the event that relates to your topic, niche or business and create a press release. This is a great way to promote your business.

Does it sound like a lot of work to stay up on the current events? It really isn't if you take advantage of Google's alert service.

Go to alerts.google.com there you can register to receive news alerts as they happen, a daily recap or weekly recap.

To set up an alert, all you need is an e-mail address and the keywords you want to monitored. You might also want to add your business and more personal name while you're there. That way you'll know right away when Google picks up that press release you created.
